Netscape Mail 6:

Select ‘Tasks’ in Navigator from the menu then click ‘Mail and Newsgroups’  which will take you to the ‘Inbox for Netscape 6’

From the Menu, click ‘Edit’ then select ‘Mail and Newsgroups Settings’

Click ‘New Account’ on the left.

Click ‘ISP or email provider’ and press Next.

Fill in your name and your email address and click ‘Next’.

Click POP and enter the POP3 Server name.

Note that you must now use your Internet Service Provider (ISP) for the ‘Outgoing mail server (SMTP):’ setting. In this example, we’ve called it smtp.YOUR-ISP.com. While most ISPs use the convention of ‘smtp’ or ‘mail’ in front of the ISP domain name,  you may need to contact the ISP and ask them for the name of your Outgoing SMTP server. Some Outgoing SMTP servers require authentication (a special password) so you may need to ask them for the authentication information as well as the name of their SMTP Server.  Sorry, we can’t tell you the settings for your ISP’s SMTP Outgoing Mail Server but your ISP can.

Press the ‘Next’ button.

And press ‘Finish’.

You can now test the email setup by addressing a new Email to you@yourdomain.com and press send. You should see the message come into your email box within a reasonable amount of time. The time it takes may depend on your ISP’s SMTP mail server load at the time that you send your test message.
